Showcasing Claremont’s Vision with Drone Videography: The PFA Headquarters Transformation

At DAV Media, we specialise in using professional drone videography to create immersive, high-quality visuals that capture the essence of design and construction projects. Our dedication to using film and aerial cinematography to tell stories is demonstrated by our recent partnership with Claremont to document their breathtaking transformation of the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) headquarters in the heart of Manchester.

The Project: A New Era for the PFA

Claremont was given the responsibility of revamping the PFA’s main office to create a vibrant, contemporary environment that pays homage to the organisation’s footballing history. In order to create a space that not only inspires but also effectively supports the PFA’s operations, it was intended to combine innovation and history.

Key elements of the design include:

  • A red brick wall engraved with the names of PFA award winners, paying homage to Manchester’s iconic architecture.
  • An immersive video tunnel, where synchronised lighting and player footage create an engaging experience for visitors.
  • A media suite with a green screen for live streaming and podcasting, complemented by a feature wall made from historic football shirts, aptly named the ‘shirt-ain’.
  • A lecture theatre featuring the same bucket seats used in Manchester United’s dugout, enhancing the authenticity of the space.
  • Flexible meeting and event spaces, allowing adaptability for various functions.

DAV Media’s Role: Capturing the Transformation

Claremont entrusted DAV Media with filming and showcasing their exceptional work on this high-profile project. Our goal was to create a compelling visual story that highlights the thought, craftsmanship, and innovation behind the redesign of the PFA headquarters. To achieve this, we employed a combination of cutting-edge filming techniques, with a strong emphasis on drone videography and cinematic aerial footage:

    • FPV Drone Footage: Using first-person-view (FPV) drones, we navigated seamlessly through the space, providing dynamic perspectives and capturing the flow of the design elements.
    • Standard Drone Filming: For exterior and large-scale shots, we deployed high-resolution drones to showcase the building’s presence within Manchester’s urban landscape, offering stunning aerial photography and videography.
    • Traditional Filming: Our team conducted in-depth interviews with key stakeholders from Claremont and the PFA, as well as capturing detailed interior shots to emphasise the quality of materials and design choices.

Overcoming Filming Challenges

Every project comes with its own set of challenges. On this particular one, the lighting and reflections in the immersive video tunnel required careful planning to ensure clarity and visual impact. Through expert cinematography and post-production techniques, we achieved a polished final product that does justice to Claremont’s incredible work.
